Un progettino mini davvero super facile: i coni gelato!
A super easy miniature project: ice cream cones!

I mean, who doesn't love ice cream? Even my Barbie dolls couldn't resist grabbing one

Tip: add a hook to the top of your miniature icecream for a seriously sweet charm!

Materiali usati / Supplies:

I used my brand new Makin's Texture Sheets for the cones texture. They are super-flexible plastic sheets and I particularly loved the fact that they're completely transparent; since you can see the clay underneath, you always get perfect impressions!

I mixed approx. 2 parts of "Champagne" with 1 part of "Terracotta" Cernit polymer clay; then, I rolled the clay to a 1mm thickness.

I pressed my "Screen" texture sheet against the clay, using a rolling pin (you can also do this by hand).

I rolled a piece of wax paper into a cone (I secured it at the base with a stapler) and I cut the clay into a triangle.

I wrapped the clay triangle on my paper cone (gently - you don't want to ruin the texture!) and sealed the edges with the help of two embossing pens (small nib to seal, large nib to even it out).

I baked the cone for approximately 5 minutes and let it cool down.

For the actual ice cream, I rolled a small ball of Brown clay and laid it on the cone. You may want to fill the cone with scrap clay beforehand, to make it stronger.

Using an embossing stylus, I pulled the edges of the clay ball downward, to create a sort of "border" around it - it doesn't have to be perfect! Make it a little messy.

I textured the ice cream ball with a toothbrush and a pen knife.

You can obviously play around with your ice cream flavours! I used white, pink and biscuit clay for Stracciatela, Strawberry and Hazelnut ice creams. Add some decorations (chocolate drops, sprinkles, chopped hazelnuts, cherries..) and bake.

Una volta cotti, ho colorato leggermente i coni con dell'acrilico marrone molto diluito.
Once baked, I lightly painted the cones with diluted brown acrylic paint.
